Mandatory livestock register: what you need to know
The livestock register is a mandatory document for every farmer in France. It must contain each animal's identification, movements (entries/exits), veterinary treatments administered, purchased feed and health checks. Penalties for non-compliance
Failing to keep your livestock register can result in a 4th class fine (up to €750) and may lead to withdrawal of CAP subsidies. During an inspection, absence of a register is considered serious negligence.
